This month at Powell Vet Center, we are featuring one of our favorite little guys, a handsome chihuahua mix known as Mr. James Bond! James has been a patient of ours since 2010, when he was adopted by his family and brought in for his first exam. He was a bit shy and fearful at first, but over time he has become much more comfortable at the vet. Now the whole staff looks forward to seeing him when he comes in for nail trims every few months! We can’t help but hum his 007 “theme song” while we work with him in the treatment area.
James Bond’s humans, Eric and Robin, were kind enough to share their experience in adopting James and what is has been like having him as a part of their family:
“My wife Robin and I adopted James Bond from the Oregon Humane Society on January 26th, 2010. Being a first time dog owner, it has been a great experience for me. He has been a perfect gentleman…except for the time when we went hiking and he nibbled a Rhodesian Ridgeback’s tail! Then there was the time he ate a whole bar of dark chocolate and we rushed him to our friends at Powell Blvd. He’s been a great adventure buddy. He likes to go on car rides and walks around the neighborhood. He’s actually a pretty robust hiker too. He’s traversed Angel’s Rest, Eagle Creek Wilderness, and Wallowa Lake to name a few. He makes our house feel like home. There’s something amazing about being around James. When we come back from work, ask him if he wants to “go” or if he’s ready for a meal, his exuberance for being together overshadows everything. We have a special companion in James, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.”
